Michelle Ward has two great blogs- one personal, and for her Street Team How Cool Is That. Monthly, Michelle comes up with a "crusade", and other bloggers contribute. It's a great way to share and meet other bloggers. The theme this month is Cheap Tricks- clever, inexpensive things you use when you make art.
Just a note- the picture at the top has NOTHING to do with this- I bought a bunch of old knitting needles, and was just having fun lining them up by color.
One of my very favorite things to use when making art is my grommet tool- or as my friend Karla likes to call it - "the grommitizer". The grommitizer is like an eyelet setting tool, but, at least for me, easier to use, and more functional. I use it to reinforce the holes in tags so they they can hold a binder ring and fibers. It will also punch through wood to create a hole to thread ribbon or fibers.
I believe you can still buy the grommet tool at a sewing store like Joann's, but I haven't been able to find the colored grommets anywhere except old sewing baskets that I find at estate sales. I haven't found any new "old" grommets in about a year, so I'm kind of hording the ones I have.
