Collections

Michelle Ward's   Green Pepper Press Street Team has issued a call for blogs & journal pages about collections- right up my alley.  At heart, I'm a collector, a hunter & gatherer and I think I enjoy the search as much or more than the actually having. Most of my collections have been started because they were inexpensive and easily available items.  If I was at an estate sale and couldn't afford the beaded purse in the bedroom or the English tea pot in the dining room, I could go to the basement and find a wooden advertising hanger for a couple of dollars.  My tag collection began when I started using Manila shipping tags as a basis for collage- I started noticing vintage tags.  One nice thing about my tag collection is that it's small and can be kept in a cigar box and pulled out and sorted through whenever I need a "collection hit".  Speaking of cigar boxes, I have a collection of those, too.  I'll have a picture of those tomorrow.
