Have you heard about ICAD 2015? It's a 61 day challenge starting June 1. The idea is to make an "Index Card A Day" for each day in June and July. This is the fifth year it's been hosted by Tammy at Daisy Yellow Art.
When I heard about it I just started making cards, I didn't want to wait for the "Official" start date. There really aren't any rules, and the idea is just to inspire you to make a little bit of art everyday.
Some of my card have been very simple and taken about five minutes. Some, like the Zentangles, have taken longer.
The idea behind using an index card is that it's small, so it's not too intimidating, and it's inexpensive. If you start a card and don't like it, toss it.
It's a great way to try a new technique-like the card in the upper right corner that I used a distress markers and a doily as a stencil. It's also a way to use up those little scraps of paper that you can't throw away.
ICAD has a Facebook group, prompts, instructions and suggestions, all available at the link above; but the bottom line is to just make a little bit of art everyday.
