Karla and I have hardly seen each other this summer, much less gone junking together. Karla had Friday free, and wanted to go to estate sales, but I thought the selection of estate sales, although large, was kind of depressing.
But, there was a small flea market not too far away so we decided to meet there. It wasn't over the top great, but we both managed to find some stuff we had to have.
Like this sweet doll head. I haven't bought a good doll head in quite a while. I know, they freak out some people, but I think she's cute. In a seperate little grab bag I got the lace pillow pin cushion, a heart shaped velvet pin cushion and two lace medallions.
My favorite find- this sash with multiple rosettes and gold bullion trim. I'm sure it's from a fraternal order, and I probably violated some kind of rule of the order by wearing the sash out to lunch after shopping because I hadn't EARNED the right to wear it.
My final finds- a tole tray with a nice lacey edge and a mail slot- not really a mail slot, just the door to the mail slot. I held onto to the tray and hemmed and hawed about buying it. It wasn't the price that was stopping me, it was just inertia. Finally Karla said "Why wouldn't you buy a tray like? It's perfect for fall, and you can't lose money on".
That's why it's good for me to go shopping with someone else. I need to a jab to get me thinking straight...
