A trip to the Bottom's Up monthly antique show always inspires me. The displays and merchandise are just incredible.
These pictures are just a tiny peek- I was so busy ohhing and ahhing that I forgot to get my camera out. Karla and I made it a quick trip- we were probably only there a couple hours, but you could easily spend the whole day.
But what really caught my eye was how they used newspaper as a tablecloth.
(I think it's vintage newspaper- Two snow tires for $30 would be a really good price, right?)
Sheet music rolls as Christmas tree garland.
One dealer was even showing old movies in their booth. I've never seen THAT before.
French by Design always has wonderful stuff and wonderful displays...Christmas by the seashore.
Display rule: Everything looks better under glass.
My favorite find at Bottom's Up- these Victorian sailors' hearts.
I didn't buy them, but I'd like to try and make one.
It's always been my dream to sew like a sailor.

Very nice pictures, Beth! Sewing like a sailor is preferable to swearing like one! LOL!!

I am gasping over those Sailor's Hearts! We should get a few people together and do a swap for one...a little swap, like, 4...they look so much better in groupings!

Thanks for sharing the dealer displays....you know how much I enjoy them! Right now I have player piano music rolls, glass domes, plenty of old newspaper, old books, and my mom and I just packed up old home movies and a movie projector. I could do the same thing as the dealers you saw, but I probably won't, because I don't like to be a copycat. I love the movie idea, though. It might be fun for our Christmas open house!

These are fun -- and you are right about how everything looks better under glass! I need a dome that's better than the one on my cake plate!
