Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to comment on my five year blogging anniversary. I know it takes time and effort to leave a comment- I do appreciate them- and try to respond- especially if it's your first time leaving a comment or a long time friend that I haven't visited with in awhile.
The winner of my giveaway is Lulu Liz in LaLa Land.
While I was tending my booth last weekend at the Bottoms Up antique show, I started a free style sampler. I had run across this doily that's about 10" square and the pulled stitches made 16 squares with the bottom right square in a pulled work pattern. Since it was already divided, it seemed like the perfect piece to use as a sampler.
I had needle and floss with me, and I borrowed some lace and buttons from my "inventory"- and I improvised with found items. Susan, another dealer, saved this little strand of rhinestones from being thrown in the trash. She said "Oh I bet Beth can use this for something"- and I did.
It's fun to have a project to work on as the customers browse- and its a great conversation starter. Lots of people wanted to know what I was working on- and that gave me a chance to hand them my business card and ask them to check out the finished sampler on my blog.
BUT- I'm not quite finished- I have one square left- any suggestions for what should stitch on it, or stitch to it?

Dear Beth, your sampler is so lovely and beautiful in the earth tones-I love you have used a little bling also.
And congratulation, to Liz, she will be so thrilled returning home from France to this.
Beth I wish you a beautiful week-end my friend.

I love the idea that you used found items to do this portable craft. I think you should complete the final square with your embellished initials. Make them look like flowering branches. Have fun. Can't wait to see your completed work.

It's gorgeous, Beth! I am inspired! I think you need to add your name, or a monogram, and the date in that final square!

What a beautiful sampler. I am inspired to try one myself and I am definitely not a very good embroidery person. I think your name or initials and date as well.

Well Beth, heres a Suggestion. Since, you're adding so many BUTTONS to your sampler... why not put your " Button " on there, I mean your new little Yorkie !
Either add a photo-copy of his picture to the material, or hand stitch a little puppy, and, add his name Button on the bottom. Hope you like my Idea. Love the Sampler, its BEAUTIFUL ! :)

Beth,
That is so beautiful! Does LuLuLiz win it? How did I miss?
Things have changed quickly and Jud is on home hospice. I am caring for him with a lot of help from my friend's. He is sleeping a lot. I miss him already.
Big hugs,
Suz

This freestyle is awfully pretty! I'm glad you had a little time -- or maybe that's a bad thing! Either way, you made much beauty in your time!

It's beautiful Beth! I would sign it and add a flower of some sort...but I am sure whatever you do will just enhance it!
Happy rest of your week! karen....
