That could have been the sad headline earlier this week, and the Kansas woman would have been me. I went into the closet in my craft room and was digging through the rolls of wallpaper to find something. I was taking the rolls out and putting them behind me and between the closet door, the craft room door and all the rolls of wallpaper, I was trapped.
Luckily, I had my Fiskers scallop punch with me, and I punched my way out.
Ok, I'm kidding about that part- I just had to toss a few rolls out of the way and I was free. But it did inspire me to start using some of my wallpaper.
I have made a bunch of these pretty little scallops that make great labels- and I've added them to my Etsy Shop .
I've added some wallpaper packages, too- and a vintage wallpaper book.
I decorated an old book cover and all the pages are vintage wallpaper. I know I haven't used enough wallpaper to save my life if there's another avalanche- but what the heck, I had fun crafting.
Everything looks lovely, I guess it's a good thing you dug into your craft room closet. Such wonderful creations. Hugs, Diane

I understand what you mean about being buried, sugar. But I think my obituary will be "buried in pillow, Marie Antoinette doll forms and froufrou roses!! *Sigh*.....

Beth,
So glad you survived! Sometimes too much is just too much but other times it feels like treasure! All your things are lovely and I love all the punched pieces, too!

Beth,
I am hyperventilating over the gorgeousness of all this wallpaper!!!!! Etsy temptation is at an all time high. Trying not to push the button, but it could happen anyway...I am glad you punched your way out of the closet.
I'll have a post up later this evening with my version of your darling altered tin. Thanks for such great images and detailed instructions.
Have a great weekend.

Now your post reminds me of that of Karla about having trims as a memento of her aunt and you both trigger me:
I think it would be great to be burried in vintage wallpaper and my family would be no doubt so pleased to burry me in all of my craft stuff! I cannot help, this might not be appropriate for a blog, but I have to think about the possibilty of a vintage wallpapered and glittered coffin, do you think that there is a niche in the funeral market?

I was thrilled to find a box of vintage wallpaper rolls at a yard sale last spring for a buck! I never find such things. I love your labels, I will have to get some punches to make use of my paper, they will make great gift tags for Christmas presents too!

I love the pic of all of the little scalloped wallpaper bits. What is it about scallops that is so endearing? And your wallpaper collection is something to behold!

This cracks me up! Reminded me of the Collyer (Collier?) brothers, whom I heard about recently on CBS Sunday Morning and are the subject of a new EL Doctorow novel. They died when their stuff fell in on them. And they weren't even artists!
Especially love the scalloped tags and how you have them in the shoe(?) thing. Those are really cute! And yes, sometimes cleaning can benefit our creative muse!

Whats the old saying? Necessity is the mother of invention...or something like that. LOL. Regardless, you made some very cute things...will you be punching more?
:D

I'm quite enjoying the image of you rescuing yourself with your trusty punch. Did you say you marked your ornaments $3 each? (I'm going from memory here, which is kinda faulty) - I would think they'd fly out of your shop at that price. Maybe $4 or $5, at least for the best of them? Don't know what the going rate is there (although I felt the $8 here was on the high side).

Hey Beth!
Arn't you glad that you had a scalloped punch and not a single small hole punch?
You'd still be in there...but on the other hand you'd be able to sell bags of confetti
in your Etsy Shop...LOL...
I was glad that you didn't get buried under a ton of paper...I just hate when that happens.
As always I do enjoy reading your blog.
Thanks for sharing.

I love the labels you made.... gotta question - how did you get the word Pins on the label - it looks like it is done on a computer - but on the scallop.
I enjoy your blog soooooo much!

Some how I can see how the Kansas woman could become covered in wall paper. Because a Texas woman has similar problems with paper, glitter, buttons, & beads! But, we LOVE our toys don't we? :) Thanks for sharing you cute goodies!
