I'm shaking, have the chills and a little bit of a headache- why? No estate sales or auctions in over a week. I haven't gotten my regular fix of old stuff, so I've been reduced to digging through my stashes to find stuff to play with. Luckily, my reserves are pretty deep.
I did buy a huge collection of old buckles and button sample cards from my friend Lucy. These pictures are just a tiny bit- I had two shopping bags full.
Can't you just imagine forty years ago, a salesman walking into the local fabric store and showing these cards to the owner, trying to talk the owner into buying some of his wares?
No antiquing has left me some time to knit- and luckily my LYS (local yarn store) had an after Christmas sale- these skeins are wool and I'm going to try my hand at felting again.
I got this neat toile knitting bag as a Christmas gift from my nieces- maybe they thought it was sad that I carried my knitting in a shopping bag.
DH got me these spiffy knitting needles- they LIGHT UP, so you can knit in the dark!
And the patchwork afghan still lives!
I've been clearing a space for a second computer so I can have a computer network that will be fitting for a high tech girl such as myself. This involves moving some furniture around, so I've been cleaning out some drawers.
Do you ever wonder WHY you keep some stuff? I really don't get a lot of satisfaction from knowing that I have box cutters, matchbooks and plastic silverware for everyone that comes to visit.
And what am I doing with 39 cent stamps, much less 20 cent Christmas stamps?
And here's my great niece, Gracie, with a little TP- apparently playing with paper runs in the family!
I've added some "doodad destashing" lots to my Etsy Shop- SugarPinkMoon. Check it out if you need some fun stuff for your projects.
